The Library Expansion project slowed somewhat this week as the holiday began to dominate the activity and some cabinets were delayed in arriving until next week. Still there are lots of interesting photos to be taken.
Every evening when the sun goes down in the west and the sky is clear, a streak of light appears across
Coupeville that includes the Library. This photo was taken across the open field west of the Library and is always eye-catching.
This photo shows two workman who are spray staining wood slats that will be installed on the ceiling of the entry hallway connecting the front and rear entrances to the Library. The first few pieces have been installed and look very nice. A photo of the installed ceiling should be available next week.
Cabinets have been installed in the area that will be behind the circulation desk. The "window" in the picture opens to the librarian's office.
Ceiling panels have been installed throughout the building. The covers over the lights will be installed later. This view is in the stacks area.
This one of several acoustical panels installed throughout the library
And here is a happy librarian (Leslie) standing in her future office! The "window" looks out to the circulation desk as well as to the adult reading room and to the children's area.
